Rosie’s Collection Pledges to Support Ruth’s Harvest Fundraiser

The COVID-19 Virus may have succeeded in the temporary closing of Rosie’s Collection’s (Rosie’s) doors but the boutique, located at 9 Steinwehr in Gettysburg, isn’t being deterred in its efforts to support an important and much needed community cause. Rosie’s product offerings include: women’s apparel, unique gifts, men’s formal rentals, jewelry and accessories, but the newest collection is Rosie’s own brand of over 90 gourmet jams, jellies, sauces and salsas.

When Rosie’s Owner, Marci Cropp, realized that the mission of Ruth’s Harvest was in need of help in fulfilling an important community need, she contacted the organization to find out how Rosie’s could help. Ruth’s Harvest Gettysburg is a free ministry of area churches and organizations that provides healthy meals and snacks to food-insecure children. Backpacks of meals are provided to children in the Gettysburg Area School District on weekends. With the mandated closing of schools in the Gettysburg area, the need for additional support is challenging the non-profit organizations ability to satisfy the needs of area children.

“We are grateful for Rosie’s Collection for highlighting this very real need in the community. In our first week since schools have been shut down, we distributed over 170 bags to families. We believe that as this crisis drags on the need will increase as more families find themselves out of work and struggling to make ends meet. Anyone showing up each Friday and asking for help will receive it. We are so fortunate to have great partners in the community like Rosie’s who are rolling up their sleeves and giving back,” comments Jim Dunlop, Board President, Ruth’s Harvest Gettysburg.

“Our doors may be closed for now but we have a very effective website that allows our customers to access our wide range of products and services without leaving their home,” says Marci Cropp. “The Ruth’s Harvest volunteers are working diligently to feed so many children in our community that we’ve decided to put our website to work to help this important project.”

Effective immediately, and until further notice, Rosie’s will donate $3.00 for each jar sold from Rosie’s Cupboard to Ruth’s Harvest Gettysburg. This includes all jellies, jams, sauces and salsas, including our Famous Crab Salsa, salad dressings and dessert sauces. Participants may double the donation by donating their purchase directly to Ruth’s Harvest Gettysburg. “We’ve set-up our web ‘Check-Out’ process to initiate the delivery to Ruth’s Harvest. Simply check ‘Gift Wrap Option: Donate to Ruth's Harvest’ and we will take care of the delivery of the product along with $3 per jar cash donation,” says Cropp.

Customers who want to receive their products will be able to select the “free” option of exterior-remote pick-up at the rear, parking entrance to Rosie’s. Customers may also pay to have the products delivered to their home via USPS. “No matter how difficult the COVID-19 closing is to Rosie’s future business objectives, there are always others with challenges greater than our own.”
